Daimler Trucks North America LLC is recalling certain 2020-2021 Western Star 4700 and 4900 and Freightliner Coronado, 108SD and 114SD vehicles because their certification labels contain incorrect weight rating information. Specifically, the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the label exceeds what the tires can safely handle, which violates federal safety standards and could lead to overloading the axles and increasing crash risk.
To remedy this issue, DTNA dealers will install accurate GAWR labels at no charge. Owners of affected vehicles should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall number FL-864 to arrange for the label installation.
