What happened

Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain truck bodies equipped with Maxon GPTLR and GPTWR Lift Gates with License Plate Bracket Light number 908120-01. The license plate light in these vehicles may aim rearward toward other drivers instead of toward the license plate, which increases the risk of a crash and causes the vehicles to fail to comply with federal safety standards for lamps and reflective devices.

If you own an affected vehicle, Great Dane will notify you and provide a corrective License Plate Kit with Light free of charge through dealers. The recall began January 11, 2021. To reach Great Dane customer service, call 1-877-369-3493.

Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain Truck Bodies equipped with Maxon GPTLR and GPTWR Lift Gates with License Plate Bracket Light number 908120-01. If installed, the license plate light may aim rearward and not towards the license plate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
