Great Dane Trailers — SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC:CALIPER

Is my product affected?

2015 GREAT DANE REEFER; 2016 GREAT DANE REEFER

  • Brand GREAT DANE

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain 2015-2016 Reefer semi trailers manufactured between December 19, 2013, and June 28, 2015, that are equipped with specific Meritor EX225L2, EX225L+, or Bendix ADB22X axles. The problem involves caliper bolts on the air disc brakes that may not have been properly tightened during manufacturing, which could allow the bolts to loosen and cause the brake caliper to detach from the axle flange.

If the caliper detaches, the trailer's braking performance would be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash. To address this issue, Great Dane will notify owners and authorized dealers will inspect and tighten the caliper bolts at no charge. Affected owners should contact Great Dane customer service at 1-912-232-4471 or Meritor customer service at 1-866-668-7221.
