What happened

General Motors is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD Medium Duty trucks due to an electrical system software issue. If the vehicle's body control module loses communication with the electronic brake control module, the ABS malfunction indicator light may not illuminate to alert the driver that the ABS system is malfunctioning. This creates an increased risk of a crash if a driver is unaware the ABS system is not functioning properly.

GM will notify owners and dealers will update the software calibration for the body control module. The recall began June 29, 2020. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or reference GM recall number N202305070 when scheduling service.
