Vac-Tron Equipment, LLC is recalling certain 2012-2020 MC555SDT, MC533SDT, and MC573SDT Vacuum Excavator trailers due to lighting and visibility problems. The trailers have front clearance lamps positioned improperly, with the jetter blocking visibility to the passenger side front clearance lamp. Additionally, insufficient reflective tape may have been applied to the sides and rear, and some trailers may lack side or rear reflex reflectors. These defects prevent the trailers from meeting federal safety standards and create a risk that the trailer may not be visible at night, increasing the risk of crashes.
To address this recall, Vac-Tron will notify affected owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron at no charge. The recall began June 5, 2020. Owners of affected trailers should contact Vac-Tron customer service at 1-888-822-8766.

Vac-Tron Equipment, LLC. (Vac-Tron) is recalling certain 2012-2020 MC555SDT, MC533SDT and MC573SDT Vacuum Excavator trailers. The trailer's front clearance lamps are positioned improperly, the jetter blocks visibility to the passenger side front clearance lamp, and an insufficient amount of conspicuity tape may have been applied on the sides and rear. The trailers may also may also lack side or rear reflex reflectors. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
