What happened

Chrysler is recalling certain Mopar Outside Foldaway Heated Power Left Mirrors (part number 68147863AS) and Mirror Replacement Glass (part number 68050299AA) because the driver side mirror glass can detach from the backing plate, eliminating the reflective surface and reducing visibility. This defect increases the risk of a crash and fails to meet federal rear visibility standards.

Chrysler will notify owners of the recall, which began November 24, 2020. Dealers will replace the driver side mirror or replace the glass at no charge. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall number W71.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Outside Foldaway Heated Power Left Mirrors, part number 68147863AS and Mirror Replacement Glass, part number 68050299AA. The driver side mirror glass can detach from the backing plate and no longer provide a reflective surface. As such, these items fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
