Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Porsche is recalling certain 2003-2016 Cayenne and Panamera models because the bushing that connects the gear selector lever to the gearbox may degrade and detach over time. If this happens, a driver can move the shift lever to Park and remove the key while the transmission is not actually in Park, with no warning or alert to the driver. This creates a hazard where the vehicle may unexpectedly move if the driver exits without applying the parking brake, increasing the risk of a crash.
Porsche will notify owners, and the remedy is free replacement of the shifter cable bushing at authorized dealers. Until the vehicle is repaired, owners should use the parking brake when exiting the vehicle. The recall began August 9, 2019. Affected owners should contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 or reference recall number AKB1.
