What happened

Porsche Cars North America is recalling certain 2018 Panamera models due to a potential electrical system defect. The affected vehicles may have a control unit with incorrect soldering that could cause intermittent system failures and impaired vehicle driveability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Porsche will notify owners and replace the affected control units at no charge through authorized dealers. The recall began May 17, 2019. Affected consumers should contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 and reference recall number AKA5 to schedule a replacement.
