Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2011-2017 Glaval Universal transit buses (models US50225, US50225C, US50226, US50226C, and US80227C) because they are missing one egress window on both the curbside and roadside of the vehicle. This deficiency means the buses do not comply with federal safety standards for emergency exits, and occupants could become trapped inside during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.
To remedy the issue, Forest River will notify owners and dealers will install one additional egress window on both the curbside and roadside of each vehicle at no cost. The recall began on June 24, 2019. Affected owners should contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 and reference recall number 05-1029.
