What happened

Forest River is recalling certain 2018 Forest River Salem recreational trailers, model SMT282QBXL-OR, because the Federal Placards on these vehicles display incorrect tire pressure information. The placards show 54 PSI when the correct tire pressure should be 65 PSI. This incorrect information can lead operators to under-inflate the tires, which increases the risk of a crash. The vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110 regarding tire selection and rims, or with federal certification requirements.

Forest River began notifying owners of this recall on April 13, 2018, and has provided affected owners with a corrected tire placard at no charge. Owners of recalled vehicles should contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5413 to receive the correct tire placard. Forest River's reference number for this recall is 22-0693.
