What happened

Columbia Northwest, Inc. is recalling certain 2013-2018 Somerset E3 recreational trailers because their Certification Labels may be missing Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information. Without this information, users may unknowingly overload the trailer, increasing the risk of a crash. The affected trailers fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110 and 49 CFR Part 567.

To remedy the issue, Columbia Northwest will notify owners and send them a corrected certification label at no charge. The recall began on May 18, 2018. Owners of affected trailers should contact Columbia Northwest customer service at 1-724-237-5227.

Columbia Northwest, Inc. (Columbia Northwest) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Somerset E3 recreational trailers. The Certification Labels on these vehicles may be missing the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selections and Rims," and the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
