What happened

Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. is recalling certain 2007-2012 KME Predator Pumper, 2013 Predator SS Aerial, 2007 Predator Aerial, 2008-2011 Predator Rescue, and 2007 Predator Tanker vehicles equipped with Timoney Independent Front Suspensions. The vehicles have a defect where inconsistent machining may cause fatigue cracks to develop in the front axle spindles over time, which could lead to spindle failure and the separation of a front wheel from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

KME began notifying owners on May 2, 2018, and will replace the front axle spindle at no charge through authorized dealers. Owners of affected vehicles should contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.
