Isuzu Motors Limited is recalling certain 2011-2018 Isuzu commercial trucks and 2016-2018 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward trucks equipped with Walter Kidde Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers (models FC10 and FC110). The fire extinguishers may become clogged and fail to discharge properly, may require excessive force to activate, or may have a nozzle that detaches from the valve assembly, which could cause injury and render the extinguisher inoperable.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by Isuzu beginning in December 2017 and instructed to contact Kidde for a free replacement fire extinguisher. Affected consumers may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638, Walter Kidde customer service at 1-855-262-3540, or visit www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" to order replacement fire extinguishers at no charge.

(Isuzu) is recalling certain 2011-2017 Isuzu NPR, 2008 NPR HD and NPR-HD Gas, 2011-2018 NPR HD and NRR, 2015-2018 NPR XD, 2012-2018 NQR, 2012-2017 NPR Gas and NPR-HD Gas, 2016-2017 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 3500 HD, 3500 and 4500 and 2017-2018 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 4500 HD, 4500 XD, 5500 HD and 5500 XD vehicles, equipped with certain Walter Kidde Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers, models FC10 and FC110. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.
