2016 BRAUN BRAUNABILITY MXV

  • Brand BRAUN

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Braun Corporation is recalling certain 2016 BraunAbility MXV wheelchair accessible conversion vehicles built on Ford Explorer chassis. The issue occurs when the driver or front passenger seat is moved to its most rearward position, which can dislodge the seat position sensor. This prevents the air bag control unit from accurately calculating the proper deployment force needed during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.

To remedy the problem, Braun will notify owners and dealers will modify the seat base pedestals free of charge to provide the necessary clearance for the seat position sensor. The recall began on November 20, 2017. Affected owners should contact Braun customer service at 1-800-488-0359.
