2017 AUDI S3; 2017 AUDI A3 CABRIOLET
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain 2017 Audi A3 and S3 Sedan vehicles because the air bag control unit software may deploy the passenger frontal air bag with excessive force during low-speed crashes if the front seat passenger is sitting on the edge of the seat or lying down with the seat reclined. This condition can increase the risk of injury and causes the vehicles to fail to meet federal occupant crash protection standards.
Audi will notify owners of the recall, which began on April 20, 2017. Dealers will update the air bag control module software free of charge. Affected owners should contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 to arrange the software update. Volkswagen's reference number for this recall is 69Q3.
