What happened

Trek Tire LLC is recalling certain Dunlop GrandTrek PT3A tires in size 275/50R21 that were manufactured between December 1, 2016, and December 7, 2016. These tires lack complete DOT identification markings required by federal safety standards. The missing markings can lead to inappropriate tire use, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Dealer Tire LLC will notify owners and replace the noncompliant tires free of charge. The recall began on October 27, 2017. Owners of affected tires should contact Trek Tire at 1-207-200-6967.

Trek Tire LLC (Trek Tire) is recalling certain Dunlop GrandTrek PT3A tires, size 275/50R21, manufactured between December 1, 2016, and December 7, 2016, which fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles." The affected tires lack the complete DOT identification marking prefix for radial tires and light vehicles.
