What happened

Diono is recalling certain convertible and booster car seats (Radian R100, Radian R120, Radian RXT, Olympia, Pacifica, and Rainier models) manufactured between November 25, 2013, and September 5, 2017. When these seats are installed in the forward-facing position using only the lap belt without the top tether, they may not adequately protect a child from injury in a crash, increasing the risk of chest injury. The seats fail to meet federal safety standards for child restraint systems.

Diono will notify owners and provide a free remedy kit that includes an updated instruction manual, an energy absorbing pad, and a new chest clip at no cost. The recall began on November 22, 2017. Affected consumers should contact Diono customer service at 1-855-215-4951.
