What happened

Hale Products Inc. is recalling certain Fire Pump Engagement Pressure Switches (part number 200-2560-00-0) used in fire pump systems. The interlock switch can fail during extremely cold temperatures, which may prevent the water pump from engaging and delay water delivery when battling a fire, creating a risk of injury.

Hale will replace the defective interlock module kit with a free replacement kit that has passed low temperature evaluation. Owners of affected equipment should contact Hale customer service at 1-800-533-3569 and reference recall number SB-142. The recall began on July 28, 2017.

Hale Products Inc. (Hale) is recalling certain Fire Pump Engagement Pressure Switches, part number 200-2560-00-0. These pressure switches are used to initiate the fire pump gearbox engagement with an interlock module when retrofitted to existing air shift control for the fire pump. These switches may fail during extremely cold temperatures, preventing the truck's water pump from being put into gear.
