What happened

Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2016 Odyssey transit buses manufactured between December 17, 2015, and March 29, 2016. These buses are equipped with seats that may separate from the base frame due to bolt failure during a crash, which increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant. The vehicles fail to comply with federal safety standards for school bus passenger seating and crash protection.

Turtle Top will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seats free of charge. The recall began on June 22, 2016. Affected owners should contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-574-831-4340 to arrange for the replacement, and may reference recall number 16E-037.

Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2016 Odyssey transit buses manufactured December 17, 2015, to March 29, 2016. These vehicles are equipped with seats that may separate from the base frame due to bolt failure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection", and 213, "Child Restraint Systems."
