What happened

Turtle Top is recalling certain 2012 Van Terra XL and 2012 Odyssey XL transit buses with windows that do not meet minimum loading requirements set by federal safety standards. These windows are at increased risk of breaking and falling onto passengers if pushed by passengers or objects.

Turtle Top will notify owners and dealers will install a newly designed catch and handle combination at no charge. The recall began on September 8, 2015. Affected owners should contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-574-831-4340.

Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2012 Van Terra XL transit bus manufactured October 13, 2012, to February 7, 2013, and 2012 Odyssey XL MPV transit bus manufactured May 2, 2011, to October 4, 2011, which fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." The windows may not meet minimum loading requirements.
