Newmar Corporation is recalling certain motorhomes from model years 2008-2015, including Bay Star, Dutch Star, Ventana, Bay Star Sport, Ventana VL, Canyon Star, Dutch Aire, and Kountry Star models manufactured between May 29, 2007, and January 14, 2015. These vehicles are equipped with certain Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps made by Lippert Components. The bolt attaching the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture, causing the fan gear to disengage and making the steps unstable and potentially unsafe for entry and exit.
Newmar will notify owners about the recall, and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism at no charge. Owners should contact Newmar customer service at 1-574-773-7791 or Lippert customer service at 574-537-8900 to arrange the repair. The recall number is 15E 078 and began on February 17, 2016.

Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain model year 2008-2014 Bay Star, Dutch Star, and Ventana, 2012-2014 Bay Star Sport and Ventana VL, 2008-2015 Canyon Star, 2009-2010 Dutch Aire and 2008 Kountry Star motorhomes manufactured May 29, 2007, to January 14, 2015, and equipped with certain Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps manufactured by Lippert Components.
