  • Brand NEWMAR

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Newmar Corporation is recalling certain 2016 Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, and Canyon Star motorhomes built between July 8, 2015, and September 14, 2015. The parking brake actuator in these vehicles may be out of calibration, which can prevent the parking brake from properly holding the vehicle even when the pedal is fully depressed. Additionally, the parking brake may not fully disengage when the pedal is released. These problems create risks of the vehicle unexpectedly rolling, which could cause personal injury or a crash, and a dragging parking brake could result in a wheel end fire.

To remedy the issue, Newmar dealers will replace the parking brake foot pedal assembly at no cost to owners. The recall began on October 22, 2015. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300 to arrange for the repair.
