2014 MAZDA CX-5; 2015 MAZDA CX-5; 2016 MAZDA CX-5; PILKINGTON REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Pilkington North America is recalling certain replacement windshields (model FW04026 GTY) manufactured between November 23, 2015 and December 16, 2015 that are used in Mazda CX-5 vehicles equipped with the Smart City Brake Support system. The windshields contain a bracket that holds a laser sensor for this safety system, but these brackets were improperly installed using only tape instead of tape and urethane, which may cause them to loosen or detach.
If the bracket loosens or detaches, the Smart City Brake Support safety system may stop working, increasing the risk of a crash. Pilkington will attempt to identify affected customers through wholesalers and retailers that purchased the windshields. According to the record, affected windshields will be replaced free of charge. Owners should contact Pilkington at 1-844-278-7230.
