Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2016 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses manufactured between May 1, 2015, and August 1, 2015. These buses have push-out tempered glass windows that may not stay attached to the vehicle during a crash, which increases the risk of occupants being ejected and injured. The vehicles do not meet federal safety requirements for window retention.
DTNA will notify owners at no cost, and authorized dealers will modify the windows to ensure they meet retention requirements. Owners of affected buses should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 and reference recall number FL-697.

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2016 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses manufactured May 1, 2015, to August 1, 2015. The affected buses are equipped with push-out tempered glass windows that may not remain attached to the bus in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
