Goshen Coach is recalling certain model year 2006-2015 buses equipped with specific Ricon wheelchair lift models manufactured between January 1, 2006, and October 19, 2015. The lifts have folding link arms with pivot holes that may be oversized, causing bearings to shift out of position. This misalignment can lead to excessive movement of the stowed platform and failure of the platform mounting, potentially causing the wheelchair lift platform to fall out of the vehicle when doors are opened, which poses an injury risk to lift operators.
To remedy the issue, Goshen will notify owners and dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or displaced bearings and check the platform for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced at no cost. Owners should contact Goshen customer service at 1-574-970-6300 or Ricon Customer Service at 1-800-322-2884. The recall began November 23, 2015. Notably, vehicles that received a similar recall remedy in 2014 remain affected by this recall and require the new inspection and repair.
