What happened

Chrysler is recalling certain 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab trucks manufactured between August 26, 2013, and August 8, 2015. These vehicles have side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) that may not fully overlap the C-pillars during a crash, which means they may not inflate as intended. If the air bags fail to deploy properly in a crash, rear seat occupants face an increased risk of injury.

Chrysler dealers will inspect the right and left side air bag curtains for proper orientation and install a foil patch on both sides of the headliner. If either air bag curtain is found to be defective, it will be replaced. Affected owners should contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 to schedule service for this recall, which is identified as R47.
