General Motors is recalling certain 2006-2009 model year vehicles, including the Pontiac Grand Prix, Buick LaCrosse, Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x. In these vehicles, the headlamp driver module may overheat and fail, preventing the headlamps and daytime running lights from illuminating. This creates a safety hazard by reducing the driver's ability to see the roadway and reducing the vehicle's visibility to oncoming traffic, which increases the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners and replace the headlamp driver module for free at authorized dealers. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737, or reference GM recall number 14291 to arrange service.
