General Motors is recalling certain 2013-2016 Cadillac ATS vehicles manufactured between April 25, 2012, and June 25, 2015, because the roof panel switch is not recessed. This design flaw means the switch may be accidentally pressed, causing the roof panel to close automatically and potentially injuring occupants. The vehicles fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 118 governing power-operated roof systems.
To remedy the issue, GM will notify owners and replace the roof console accessory switch trim plate at no charge. The recall began on August 19, 2015. Affected consumers should contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 to arrange service, and should reference GM recall number 15568.
