What happened

General Motors is recalling certain 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX vehicles manufactured between April 14, 2009, and September 1, 2014, and 2011-2012 Saab 9-4X vehicles manufactured between February 1, 2011, and September 13, 2011. The rear suspension toe adjuster link jam nut may not be properly torqued to specification, which can cause the link to become loose. A loose toe adjuster link can cause the vehicle to sway or wander at highway speeds and may lead to thread damage and eventual failure of the component. If the toe adjuster link fails completely, it will cause an abrupt change in the vehicle's alignment, potentially resulting in loss of vehicle control and increased risk of a crash.

To address this issue, GM will notify owners and dealers will inspect and torque the left and right rear toe link adjuster lock nuts at no charge. If there is evidence of damage or a loose link, the parts will be replaced free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2014. Affected consumers should contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or Saab customer service at 1-800-955-9007, and can reference GM recall number 14457.
