What happened

Navistar is recalling certain 2015-2016 IC CE and IC RE school buses equipped with Haldex air brake actuators. The brake actuators may have been manufactured with an incomplete attachment of the internal rubber diaphragm to the actuation mechanism, which could cause the brakes to drag and overheat, increasing the risk of a wheel end fire.

To remedy this issue, Navistar dealers will replace the affected Haldex Life Seal Brake chambers at no cost to owners. The recall began on June 19, 2015. Affected owners should contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 and reference recall number 15505 to arrange for the replacement.
