What happened

Emerson Process Management Regulator Technology Inc. is recalling certain Fisher Pressure Relief Valves (models H732A, H832A, H733, and H833) manufactured between April 9, 2013, and April 24, 2015, that were sold as replacement equipment for cargo tank trailers transporting compressed gases like butane or amines. The valves with relief setpoints up to 200 psig may have restricted flow rates if the tank trailer is involved in a crash or fire, which could cause the tank to explode and seriously injure bystanders.

Emerson will notify owners and provide replacement pressure relief valves at no cost. The recall began on August 17, 2015. Affected consumers should contact Emerson customer service at 1-888-237-1751 to arrange replacement.

Emerson Process Mgmt Regulator Tech, Inc. (Emerson) is recalling certain Fisher Pressure Relief Valves model numbers H732A, H832A, H733, and H833 manufactured from April 9, 2013, through April 24, 2015 and sold as aftermarket or for use as service replacement equipment in cargo tank trailer applications for transporting compressed gases, such as butane or amines. The flow rate of valves with relief setpoints up to 200 psig may be restricted in the event the tank trailer is involved in a crash or other emergency and is exposed to a fire.
