What happened

Airtex Products is recalling certain replacement fuel pump modules due to a defect that can cause fuel leaks. The problem involves an improper seal on the flexible line connecting the fuel pump to an external fuel filter, which can allow fuel to leak at the connection point. A fuel leak increases the risk of fire.

Airtex will replace the defective fuel pumps for free. Owners of affected pumps should contact Airtex customer service at 1-800-880-3056 to arrange for a replacement.
