Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Motor Coach Industries is recalling certain model year 1993-1995 102DL3 motor coaches and 2006-2008 D4505 motor coaches. The affected buses have a driveshaft that may detach from the transmission and escape its containment bracket. If this occurs, the driveshaft can strike the trailing axle tie rod and components of the trailing axle locking system, potentially causing the steering and caster locking mechanisms to unlock, which could result in loss of steering control and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
MCI will notify owners and dealers will add a secondary driveshaft containment hoop forward of the tag axle support structure at no charge. The recall began on August 7, 2014. Affected consumers should contact MCI customer service at 1-847-285-2090 or reference recall number 414.
