What happened

Eldorado National (California), Inc. is recalling certain model year 2005-2012 Axess, 2006-2013 E-Z Rider II, and 2013 Passport buses equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers or DC-DC converters. The recalled components contain a specific epoxy sealing compound that was found to conduct electricity after exposure to heat, which could cause the material to melt and burn, creating a fire hazard.

Dealers will replace the affected equalizers or converters free of charge. Owners should contact Eldorado National at 1-909-591-9557 and reference recall number EQ-14-002 to arrange for the replacement.

Once electrically conductive, the material is capable of melting and burning, increasing the risk of a fire.

What should I do?

Eldorado will notify owners, and dealers will replace the equalizers or converters, free of charge. The recall began on February 15, 2014. Owners may contact Eldorado at 1-909-591-9557. Eldorado's number for this recall is EQ-14-002.

Eldorado National (California), Inc. (Eldorado) is recalling certain model year 2005-2012 Axess, 2006-2013 E-Z Rider II and 2013 Passport buses equipped with Sure Power-brand battery equalizers or DC-DC converters containing a particular epoxy sealing, aka 'potting', compound. The specific potting compound used in the subject products for insulation was found to be capable of conducting electricity after being exposed to heat.
