Eldorado National-California, Inc. is recalling certain 2007-2015 Axess, E-Z Rider II, and XHF vehicles manufactured between July 1, 2007, and May 2, 2015, that are equipped with specific Cummins Westport ISL G engines. The problem involves excessive engine crankcase pressures that may cause a 90-degree elbow on the vent tube assembly to detach from the crankcase ventilation breather, potentially allowing engine oil to contact hot surfaces and create a fire risk.
Cummins service centers will perform the free repairs, which include securing the ends of the 90-degree elbow and reprogramming the electronic control module with updated software to adjust engine output during misfire conditions and limit crankcase pressures.
