What happened

China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC (CMA) is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tires manufactured between February 24, 2013, and August 9, 2014. These tires can develop a sidewall blister on the upper section of the sidewall that may pop during vehicle operation, causing rapid air pressure loss. If this occurs, the driver could lose vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

CMA will notify owners and distributors about the recall and will reimburse owners in full for the return of affected tires at no charge. The recall began December 12, 2014. Affected consumers should contact CMA customer service at 1-626-301-9575 to arrange the return of their tires.

Hazard

China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC (CMA) is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tires manufactured February 24, 2013, to August 9, 2014. The affected tires can develop a sidewall blister on the upper section of the sidewall. This blister may pop while the vehicle is in operation. Thus, these tires fail to conform to the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 119, "New Pneumatic Tires for Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars."
