Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Ricon Corporation is recalling certain S series and K series wheelchair lifts manufactured between January 1, 2013, and January 4, 2014, that are equipped with an optional armored pendant cable. The affected models include those starting with S2003, S2005, S2010, S5505, S5510, K2010, K5505, or K5510 and ending with the letter 'B'. The problem is that the armored cable may be positioned in a way that allows it to contact the power lug of the wheelchair lift. If the cable lacks a nonconductive cover or has an improperly installed nonconductive cover, this contact could cause a short circuit that may result in a fire.
To address this issue, Ricon will notify vehicle manufacturers and will provide affected owners with a supplemental cover kit and installation instructions at no charge. The recall began on April 24, 2014. Owners of affected wheelchair lifts should contact Ricon at 1-818-267-3000.
