Is my product affected?

EVENFLO EMBRACE 35

  • Brand EVENFLO

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Evenflo is recalling certain Embrace 35 rear-facing infant car seats with AmSafe QT1 buckles manufactured between December 2011 and May 2013. The buckle can become difficult or impossible to release with repeated use, which could make it hard to quickly remove a child from the seat during emergencies such as vehicle crashes or fires. The affected model numbers include various Evenflo and Snugli branded seats with specific product codes listed in the recall notice.

Evenflo will send registered owners a remedy kit containing a replacement buckle and instructions for removing the old buckle and installing the new one themselves. Consumers with affected seats should contact Evenflo at 1-800-490-7591 or visit www.embracebuckle.evenflo.com to receive the remedy kit.

Hazard

A buckle that does not release easily, or possibly at all, may make it difficult to remove the child from the restraint, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a vehicle crash, fire, or other emergency, in which a prompt exit from the vehicle is required.

What should I do?

Evenflo will notify registered owners and provide a remedy kit, including a replacement buckle and instructions for easy consumer removal of the AmSafe buckle and installation of the newly-designed replacement buckle. The recall began on November 3, 2014. Owners may contact Evenflo's toll-free number at 1-800-490-7591, or visit their website at www.embracebuckle.evenflo.com.
