CJay Trailers Inc. is recalling certain cargo trailers from model years 2006-2013 equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. The problem occurs when a key is removed from the lock in a way that can jam the deadbolt, which then also jams the interior side of the door lock. This hazard could trap a person inside the trailer, creating a risk of injury.
To resolve this issue, CJay will notify affected owners, and Fastec will coordinate free inspection and replacement of the lock cylinders as needed. The recall began in February 2014. Owners of affected trailers should contact CJay Trailers at 1-306-694-0445 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505, referencing CJay's recall number R-12-2013.

If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the trailer at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.

(CJay) is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 CJ610, CJ612, CJ714, CJ716, CJ814, CJ816, CJ820, CJ823, and CJ824, model year 2007-2013 CJ510, model year 2008-2013 CJ813, model year 2010-2013 FX9-620 Combo and model year 2009-2013 CJ830 cargo trailers equipped with Fastec-brand door locks.
