What happened

Porsche Cars North America is recalling certain 2013-2014 Cayenne and Cayenne GTS vehicles, as well as 2013 Cayenne Diesel and 2014 Cayenne S, S Hybrid, Turbo, and Turbo S models manufactured between May 27, 2013 and July 10, 2013. The recalled vehicles have an electrical system defect in the instrument cluster that causes inaccurate fuel display readings. The fuel gauge and the calculated remaining fuel range displayed on the instrument cluster may show higher levels than the actual amount of fuel in the tank.

This inaccuracy creates a safety hazard because drivers may believe they have more fuel than they actually do, potentially causing the vehicle to unexpectedly run out of fuel and stall while driving. Porsche will notify owners, and authorized dealers will update the instrument cluster software at no charge to correct the problem. Affected owners should contact Porsche at 1-800-767-7243 and reference recall number AD03 to schedule a service appointment.
