What happened

Collins Bus Corporation is recalling certain 2009-2010 school buses including Bantam, Super Bantam, Grand Bantam, Mid Bus Guide, Super Guide, and Grand Guide models that were manufactured between September 2009 and April 2010. These buses are equipped with A&M Systems-brand electric door actuators that may experience voltage spikes, which can damage electrical components and circuits. This damage causes the circuit board to develop high resistance, creating a potential fire hazard.

To address this issue, Collins will notify affected bus owners, and authorized dealers will inspect the circuit boards at no cost. If necessary, dealers will replace the circuit boards free of charge. Owners of affected buses should contact Collins Bus Corporation at 1-800-533-1850.

Hazard

What should I do?

Collins will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the circuit board free of charge. The recall began on December 4, 2013. Owners may contact Collins at 1-800-533-1850.
