Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2013 and 2014 motorhome models, including the Challenger, Four Winds 5000, Hurricane, Chateau, Chateau Sport, Windsport, Palazzo, Four Winds Siesta, and Majestic, manufactured between February 13, 2013, and April 9, 2013. These vehicles have awning motors that may have been damaged during installation if the installation sequence was not completely followed. A damaged motor could cause the awning to unfurl unexpectedly.
If the awning unfurls while the motorhome is parked or being driven, it could cause personal injury or a vehicle crash. Owners of affected motorhomes should not drive their vehicles until repairs are completed. Thor Motor Coach will replace the damaged awning motors with redesigned motors that cannot be subject to installation errors.
