Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2013-2014 Winnebago and Itasca motorhomes manufactured between February 20, 2013, and April 25, 2013. The affected models include Access, Aspect, Sightseer, Vista, Adventurer, and Forza (Winnebago) and Impulse, Cambria, Sunova, Sunstar, and Suncruiser (Itasca). If the awning motor was not installed in the correct sequence during manufacturing, the motor can become damaged without the owner's knowledge, potentially causing the awning to unfurl unexpectedly.
An unfurled awning poses a risk of personal injury or vehicle crash, whether the motorhome is parked or being driven. Owners are instructed not to drive their vehicles until repairs are completed. Winnebago will notify owners, and Dometic staff will replace the defective motors with redesigned units. Owners should contact Winnebago at 1-800-537-1885 or Dometic at 1-888-447-0003 for more information about getting repairs performed.
