What happened

Autocar, LLC is recalling certain 2011-2013 ACX vehicles manufactured between January 24, 2011, and December 4, 2012, that are equipped with Meritor axle assemblies with MGM J24 series air brake chambers. In these vehicles, the brake chambers may leak pressure, which can cause the parking brake to drag when released. This brake dragging can lead to overheated brake components that could result in a fire.

Autocar will notify owners and replace the actuators free of charge. The recall began on June 10, 2013. Affected owners should contact Autocar at 1-765-489-5499 and reference campaign recall number A-1301.

Autocar, LLC is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 ACX vehicles manufactured January 24, 2011, through December 4, 2012. These vehicles are equipped with Meritor axle assemblies that were built with disc brakes using MGM J24 series air brake chambers.
