Lippert Components is recalling certain 2011-2012 boat trailers equipped with Carlisle Transport Products brand wheels, as well as approximately 118 wheel and tire assemblies sold for aftermarket use on recreational vehicles. The wheels were manufactured with improperly controlled machine dimensions, which can prevent them from being tightened to the proper torque during installation. If the wheels are not tightened correctly, they could loosen and separate from the vehicle, potentially causing a crash and creating a hazard for other vehicles on the road.
Lippert will notify owners of the recalled trailers and wheels. Carlisle Transport Products dealers will repair or replace the affected wheels at no cost to the owner. The recall began in December 2012. Affected consumers should contact Lippert Components at 1-574-312-6113 for information about their specific trailer or wheel assembly.

As a result, the wheel may not be tightened to the proper torque during the mounting process.
