What happened

Navistar is recalling one 2008 Safari Simba Diesel recreational vehicle manufactured on June 29, 2007, that is equipped with Bosch hydraulic brakes. The vehicle may experience a safety issue where the hydraulic brake calipers can develop problems after long periods of non-use, potentially causing brake drag, overheating, and reduced brake performance that could increase the risk of a crash.

To address this issue, Navistar will notify the owner and an authorized Daimler Trucks North America dealer will inspect and replace the brake calipers at no cost. An interim letter was already mailed to the owner on August 6, 2012. Owners should contact Daimler Trucks North America at 1-800-547-0712.
