What happened

Navistar is recalling certain 2011-2012 IC Bus BE and CE school buses and certain 2012 RE school buses manufactured between April 8, 2010 and July 1, 2011 that are equipped with C.E. White seat cushions. The seat cushions may not be securely latched to the seat structure because the self-latching mechanism may fail to activate, which could cause the seat to become dislodged during vehicle operation and increase the risk of injury to passengers.

Navistar will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will repair the affected seats free of charge. Owners of recalled vehicles should contact Navistar at 260-461-1890 to arrange for repair.

Hazard

IF THE SEAT CUSHION IS NOT SECURELY LATCHED TO THE SEAT STRUCTURE, THE SEAT COULD BECOME DISLODGED, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.

What should I do?

NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE SEATS FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 260-461-1890.
