2012 CHRYSLER 300; 2012 DODGE CHARGER
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Chrysler is recalling certain 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 and Chrysler 300 SRT8 vehicles manufactured between May 2, 2011, and November 17, 2011. These vehicles have a tire pressure monitoring system that does not properly alert drivers when tire pressure drops too low. Specifically, the system notifies drivers only when tire pressure reaches 22 PSI instead of the required 24 PSI, which means drivers are not warned when a tire is 25 percent below the recommended pressure. Underinflated tires can result in tire overloading and overheating, which could lead to a blowout and possible crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the vehicles' tire pressure monitoring system at no cost. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 for information about obtaining this service.
