What happened

Federal-Mogul Corporation is recalling certain aftermarket fuel pumps (models A23000, A23001, and A23067) that were shipped between April 2, 2012, and September 21, 2012, for use as replacement parts on Ford vehicles from model years 1989 through 1997. These pumps were installed in Ford Bronco, E Super Duty, Econoline (E-150, E-250, E-350), Explorer, F Super Duty, F-150, F-250, F-350, and Mercury Mountaineer vehicles. A seal in the pump can fail and cause a fuel leak, which in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

Federal-Mogul will replace the affected fuel pump free of charge, including both parts and labor. The recall began on December 13, 2012. Affected consumers should contact Federal-Mogul at 1-877-489-6659 for replacement.

Federal-Mogul is recalling certain Precision A23000, A23001, and A23067 aftermarket fuel pumps, shipped from April 2, 2012, through September 21, 2012. These fuel pumps were installed as replacement fuel pumps for use on various Ford vehicles for model years 1989 through 1997. The vehicles included are: Bronco, E Super Duty, Econoline (E-150, E-250, E-350), Explorer, F Super Duty, F-150, F-250, F-350, and Mercury Mountaineer.
