Double K Inc. is recalling certain Villager and Mainstreet buses from model years 2008 through 2010 that were manufactured between November 2008 and December 2010. These buses are equipped with Carrier GENV EM-1 evaporator units containing a Delphi Pack-Con III fuse holder in an Allied Motion motor assembly. Due to time, temperature, and vibration, the fuse may loosen in the fuse holder, causing high resistance and arcing that could melt the fuse holder and result in flame, smoke, and potential fire.
Double K will notify owners and provide information on how to obtain a retrofit kit from Carrier along with repair instructions. The service will be performed free of charge. Owners may contact Carrier at 1-800-793-4741 or Double K at 1-715-478-5090 for more information. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule.
